More Information & Background:
Owner (our customer) had two of his Mercedes-Benz vehicles towed to us, after the shop in which the vehicles were located before, had been shut down. Both were partially disassembled.
While we are repairing the other vehicle (transmission rebuild), this Mercedes 380 SE (W126 body style) was originally leaking out of the cylinder heads; see the partially disassembled engine in the pictures below.
Financially, it makes little sense to spend a lot of labor hours to repair the engine and replace the missing parts. The body is good, and the Mercedes ran fine prior to being taken to the first shop (except for cylinder head leaks).
With a replacement engine, this vehicle would make reliable and very safe transportation - and at reasonable mileage! Engines can be fairly easily and reasonably found at Greenleaf or LKQ.
We have obtained replacement keys by now from the Mercedes dealership (both master and valet keys) - the vehicle’s keys were lost at the previous shop. Please note: we taped up the sunroof at the time of arrival (after hours, at 7pm), since due to the lack of keys and disconnected battery the sun roof could not be closed - to prevent rain damage. Since the pictures were taken on a rainy day (Saturday), we did not remove the tape; the keys did not arrive until Tuesday, so we could not move the vehicle with ease.
Both the customer and we are interested in a quick sale of the body “as-is”, as we are not storing inoperable vehicles we are not working on longer then a few days. Please make an offer!
Vehicle, title, and all keys are located at the shop for a quick sale “as-is”. Buyer is required to pay CASH only (no payments, no financing) and move the vehicle within 24 hours, during business hours.
