1987 Lincoln Towncar
Daily Driver, 75,000 miles, *ICE* cold A/C
- reliable, comfortable cruiser with all the luxury
- 75,000 original miles
- *ICE* COLD A/C (had it even leak tested with dye, and a vaccum line fixed)
- daily driver to work (because of the ice cold A/C - I have other cars)
- inspection good through JULY 2010
- engine runs smooth, fresh oil & filter, smog pump replaced
- gets 14 to 15 miles per gallon (tested) - Ford Fuel Injection, same 5.0L V8 engine as in Mustang
- auto transmission runs great, has all gears, no sign of wear
- good rubber all around
- rear end makes a little noise - opened up and checked, no damage
- brand new radiator (with fresh coolant), brand new temp sensor (gauge works now)
- very clean interior, seats up to 6 people
- rear power windows don't work, windshield has a crack (see pic)
- roof has NO rips, just treated with Armor All to keep smooth
- tinted windows (legal), sun screen on windshield
- it had a little fender bender front left, which I had fixed for little; but no paint - turn light is new
- have a Ford radio/cass and wire plans for both radio and car (shown in pic) - not installed yet
- clear Oklahoma Title, and have the green out-of-state sheet for the State Inspection, too
(if I register it now, have to wait 3 week or longer before I can sell it, till title is in mail)
- big trunk (!) with remote open from glove compartment, and auto-close with motor
- regular suspension (not the air suspension of later models which breaks easy and costs $$$ to fix)
- no car computers = nothing much that can fail and cost a lot of $$$ to fix
- 2 original Lincoln hub caps in the trunk, too
- new windshield wiper blades
- battery with new terminals and cables
The car is not a beauty, but is technically in good shape (daily driver), has ICE COLD A/C (works perfectly - it's so cold I have to turn it down sometimes in the evening!) -- car is a solid, comfy cruiser with decent mileage.
