I was so impressed with the Repair Blog feature! As someone who is not knowledgeable in cars, to see the pictures of what you did, how, and the step by step process really put my mind at ease on my car being taken care of. My dad lives in another state and was questioning me on how I found Freddie's and what I know about them, etc. He wanted to make sure his daughter was getting her car worked on by a trusted business. As soon as I got the FixEuro email picture links I forwarded them on to him. He also was impressed and stated that there is not a doubt I found a trusted business for future dealings. After our conversation earlier today (in which you told me who built your web site), I came back here to the office and spent a bit of time looking through it. I have to say that your web guy did an amazing job -- I am VERY impressed! This is -- without a doubt -- the most useful auto shop website I have ever seen -- or that I imagine I will EVER see! It is really a useful tool that I now have bookmarked here at my office and will be bookmarking at home, too. The topics are pretty amazing -- Very Detailed Technical Info, Conversion Tables, Santa Clauses, Legislative Initiatives, ... Heck, Once I figure out why I might want to watch German TV, I plan to try out that link, too! :-)

It is a great site and I hope it will be a big help in getting the word out about your shop. As you know, stumbling onto your website is how I found you myself!

23 December 2007 - 1965 Chevy Pickup Restoration Phase II - RO # 15.136

I've been watching the progress of the restoration of my truck on the website.  I am amazed at the quality of work I'm seeing.  It is very rare to find an automotive repair shop that is trustworthy enough that you do not have to watch them every step of the way, but to find one who is willing to proactively document every step of their work because the quality is so good they want to show it off is phenomenal.  Watching the paint job progress has been great because I can see the amount of prep work that has gone into the paint job, I know when the paint goes on it will be better than when my truck rolled off the assembly line some 42 years ago.  It also allows me to show my motorhead buddies where to take their cars to get painted! 
 
Its obvious to me that the men working on my car are doing more than an job, they take tremendous pride in their work.  The quality of work I have seen is so far beyond what I expected for the price I almost feel guilty... almost.

30 November 2007 - 2000 Dodge Durango - Heater Core & Evaporator

When calling in for status of my vehicle I spoke with Service Writer Josh, who was very helpful and informative, as well as being warm and courteous. I learned I could look at pictures of my dashboard removed on the web site, and then it dawned on me, how much labor was really involved in this repair. A picture makes so much difference! I was very glad you determined the A/C evaporator was defective, too, and worked out a deal with me to replace it at this time, so I would not have to pay for the labor all over again in spring next year.

Replacing my turn signal bulb as well (without me even mentioning it when I brought my car in, and not charging me for the bulb or the labor either) was also very nice!! I had completely forgotten to bring it up - only when my turn signal did not make this annoying “fast flash” anymore did I notice you had also fixed it.

As for my 1996 Oldsmobile LSS [which is my daily driver - I collect classic Oldsmobile vehicles], I have always loved the way it drives and the great gas milage I get with a "luxury" car (30 mpg). After having the transmission rebuilt by Freddies, it seems to drive better than ever. Now, I think there was something wrong with the transmission the whole time I had it before coming to you [I had previously - and unsuccessfully - visited the dealership many times to get a harsh shifting problem resolved, until their warranty ran out, and my transmission finally broke]. Now the car drives so smooth, I can not tell what it is doing at all. That means it is really smooth. The transmission always knows exactly what gear to be in regardless of any driving situation. It still gets super gas milage and has all the power to command you would ever want. I tell all my friends, and almost look forward to the next car I get that needs transmission work. I drive with confidence knowing I have a year warranty and you great guys to back it up - though something tells me I may never need to use it. It was totally worth the money and the down time it took to get this done.

Having expected the need of a complete transmission rebuild of my fairly late-model Ford Explorer, I was very pleasantly surprised to learn that a solenoid replacement in my transmission control system might fix the problem - at a much lower cost. When this turned out to be true, and I picked up my car for less then a fifth of what I had expected to have to pay, I was certainly even more pleased! And besides being able to diagnose and repair my transmission problem correctly, I very much appreciated the turn-around time, as well as the willingness of Freddie’s management and staff to stay over two hours late after closing to allow me to catch a ride to Dallas after work to pick up my car.

RE:  Transmission repair on 2002 Dodge Truck

Freddie,


Several of my friends called me foolish when I told them that I was driving from Houston to Dallas to have your transmission shop work on my truck.    

Nevertheless, after your help on the phone suggesting a couple of things that I could try in my own garage to fix the problem, I knew your shop had to be a step above the average repair shop.   My instinct about your business was confirmed when I got to Dallas and you stepped away from a shop full of work to personally test drive my truck to determine what the problem might be.

You could have given me just about any number of technical reasons to do hundreds of dollars of repairs to my transmission without any confrontation from me.  After all you are the expert and I am just a novice shade tree mechanic. 

I was pleasantly shocked when your shop called twenty minutes after filling out a work order to let me know my truck was fixed and there wasn’t any charge. 

I don’t know how many transmission problems will not be as minor as the one you fixed for me.  But I do know a trustworthy, responsive shop when I find one. 

I would be willing to bet that the friends that thought me foolish for driving three hours to your shop will gladly be making the same trip themselves when they need your expert assistance.
